Soft Sakura

March 19th in Tokyo. The weatherman predicts our Spring indicators, Prunus serrulata, will be in full bloom in 10-14 days. The Japanese cherry blossom is a symbol of feminine beauty, love, herbs, and drinking copious amounts of alcohol in public. Cherry blossom viewing, 花見 hanami (literally 'flower looking') in Japanese, is a national celebration of Spring.

My beverage of choice (and pretty much the afternoon staple for the last three weeks) is soft-serve (simply referred to as 'soft' here in the land of abbreviations and convenient stores) chocolate ice cream from the late, great Dave Thomas.
